Research Management

The Research Management Team at the CRUK Scotland Institute (CRUKSI) provides an integrated professional support infrastructure that underpins the delivery of world-leading discovery and translational cancer research. The team operates across the full research lifecycle, from funding acquisition, supporting good research practices and governance through to programme delivery, communications and impact, ensuring that scientific activity is supported by robust, efficient and compliant systems aligned to funder and regulatory expectations.

Our Values

The team supports the Institute in maintaining the highest standards of research conduct, encompassing regulatory compliance, policy development, training and oversight of ethical frameworks.

What We Do

This includes enabling investigators to navigate complex governance requirements while embedding a culture of transparency, reproducibility and accountability across all research activities.

What We Do

Research Integrity is a core function, providing leadership in governance, ethics and best practice.

Support Network

Grant Support and Academic Support teams work in close partnership with investigators to maximise research funding and career development opportunities. Grant Support provides end-to-end assistance with funding applications, including strategic identification of opportunities, coordination of submissions and alignment with funder priorities.

Academic Support complements this by delivering tailored support for faculty, fellows and students, including onboarding, review support, training and coordination of academic initiatives, ensuring that researchers are enabled to thrive within a supportive and well-structured environment.

Delivering Complex Programmes

The Project Management Office (PMO) provides dedicated expertise to support the delivery of complex, multi-institutional programmes. This includes oversight of key strategic initiatives such as the Scotland Centre, NMGN and CRC Stars, providing programme governance, reporting, risk management and coordination across partners. The PMO ensures that large-scale projects are delivered on time and to scope, while maintaining alignment with national priorities and funder expectations.
