Project outline
We are currently seeking a Senior Scientific Officer to join Dr Leo Carlin’s laboratory, working closely with Dr Ximena Raffo. The successful candidate will support and contribute to ongoing research investigating the role of the immune system in both primary tumour development and cancer metastasis.
They will take a leading role in the translational aspects of a multidisciplinary project focused on understanding how the tumour immune microenvironment drives pro-fibrotic responses in lung cancer. This work builds on recent findings described in Raffo-Iraolagoitia et al., bioRxiv, 2023 (currently under revision) and aims to identify biomarkers that could inform treatment decisions.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent experience in biomedical sciences, cancer biology, or bioinformatics, with a strong interest in cancer immunology. While we welcome applicants from a range of scientific backgrounds, experience in omics data analysis is highly desirable.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively across disciplines is essential. Experience in manuscript preparation and contribution to scientific publications is expected.
