Data Science and Data Management Team

The Data Science and Data Management team, headed by Dr Ross Gray, is developing SPLICE, the Scientific Platform for Life Sciences data Integration, Collaboration and Exploration, a new data platform that brings together metadata harmonisation, automated workflows and high-performance computing to support life sciences research. Built on FAIR principles and using an infrastructure-as-code approach, SPLICE enables reproducible deployment across local systems, national-scale computing facilities, commercial cloud platforms and trusted research environments.

SPLICE is already helping to address the data management needs of the National Mouse Genetics Network, CRC-Stars and PREDICT-Meso. Our aim is to make data integration and collaboration simpler, more robust and more widely accessible.
